Re: hello!
Mon, February 6, 2006 - 8:55 PMHey Laura,
Guinea, was the sweetest thing ever born in this world. Its not easy to confine her within the frame of words, there arent many which could possibly enclothe her qualities. She was a dainty, quaint little thing, extremely intellegent, manner and obedient. She picked and understood commands so quickly that I did not have to repeat my training for more than once. I have written something of a tribute to her, which I shall post for you to read one of these days.
Its good know you are also a Dog lover.
Take Care, God Bless you.

Sat, April 15, 2006 - 5:27 PMHello Joe

Re: hello!
Sat, April 15, 2006 - 8:26 PMOh your German Shepard is LOVELY! Linda are you gonna post pictures of both in the tribe photo album?
I had a rescue Shepard for 7 years(he was six when I got him) but he is gone now...poor old guy! At least he had a happy life with me. He got food and water and walks instead of being tied in the back yard and beaten when he barked from lonliness and boredom. He also got baths and got brushed. I miss him!
And Joe, I, for one, would love to read your tribute to Guinea and am sorry she is no longer with you. That is the negative side of owning and loving a dog, their lives are sooo short! -

Re: hello!
Wed, April 19, 2006 - 9:56 AMhow can we refuse to take a dog in need? Molly (the one in the picture) was the product of a divorce, he husband didn't want her but just to be hateful he kept her and kept her in a crate for 18 months. I won't go into all the issues I've had with her but she is much better now. Her birthday is Christmas, she'll be 4 and I got her a little over a year ago. She's come a long way in this year, still needs more work but we're getting there -

Re: hello!
Wed, April 19, 2006 - 4:07 PMI read about Molly before Linda... She certainly looks wonderful now. I had a beautiful rescue German Shepard myself until last month. I (sorrowfully) put him to sleep because he could no longer walk or control his elimination. I had him for seven happy years though. He was six when I got him...so 13 is pretty good for a big dog, don't you think?
Molly is obviously well cared for now, her coat is beautiful...My German Shepard had a nice coat too, but no matter how much I brushed him he shed enough hair to make a new dog a week...lol...
Bless you for rescuing and giving her a happy life...where she can run around.... -

Re: hello!
Wed, April 19, 2006 - 6:26 PMNothing sheds like a shepherd, I have two so I'm replacing vacuum cleaners yearly. But despite the hair they will both be with me until they die. My male, Misty's father, had to be put down almost 4 years ago because of kidney failure. It was a hard decision to make but I had to do it. So other than the cat Misty was an "only child" for almost three years. She didn't like Molly and was determined to get rid of her but we stuck it out, now they play and run together but every once in a awhile I catch Misty making her "witch face" at Molly. Molly just looks at her like "whats your problem?" Molly is best friends with my cat, misty is only someone to run around with, neither would miss the other being gone but now they do co exist peacefully. -

Wed, April 19, 2006 - 6:28 PMwhen my youngest was little and I'd brush the dogs (outside) he'd see the hair balls blowing in the wind and say it was pokemon coming

Re: hello!
Tue, May 2, 2006 - 9:03 PMGod bless her, look after well Linda she will need all the attention she needs from now on, 13 years is a long life, it means in relation to human she is nearly 91 years old. 7 yrs of human life = I year of Dog life. I have been told.

Re: hello!
Wed, May 3, 2006 - 6:56 AMI try to take care of both of them the best I can. For her age Misty is still in pretty good health. We have an issue with an ongoing infection that I clear up then she gets it again so now she has an unlimitted prescription for the anti biotic so when it flares up I can just put her back on the medication and don't have to take her to the vet. This is working pretty good. I hate to think of the day I loose her but I don't dwell on her age, just enjoy the time we have together and still do things she loves to do just not as long. After a run in the woods with Molly she is ready for a long nap. Molly only needs a power nap, ten minutes and she's ready to go again but Misty takes longer. But if we are as healthy at her age as she is we'll be doing well -

Re: hello!
Sun, April 23, 2006 - 1:32 PMWell here goes, I will not know how cold the water is if I dont take the plunge. Well Ladies and Gentlemen this is my tribute to my beautiful Guinea.
GUINEA 16 th APRIL 1991 TO 19th DEC 2002
I know dearest Guinea, its my vain effort to restrict your attributes onto the papers, for you cannot be confined in words, as I find myself short of them, to sufficiently describe your unsurpassed genuine goodness.
You came to our house quite unannounced, a ball of white wooly fur tinged with the touch of golden brown, with two sparkling eyes and a black wet dot for a nose. You walked into my heart sniffing and seeking a familiar scent, a little apprehensive at first, as you stood at the enterance, gazing up at me as if gauging me, I wonder what you judged, and then wagging your tiny tail in acceptance, and a jig, full of joy, you, for the first time marched into my house, and climbed into my lap and snugly went to sleep a gift for my four year daughter.
Though opposed to the thought of having another addition to the family, not because, I was averse to having pets, but the aftermath, the sorrow, which would result, years later, on your departure from our midst. I have had suffered it once before, and knew it would happen again, leaving me shedding tears for long time afterwards which would be incapable of filling the void left by your absence.
You were a bundle of joy, your love for me was unparalleled, you were loyal and faithful and obedient till the very end, which makes me wonder if I hadnt asked you to leave then..... would you have remained with me now? You had a heart of gold. You were obidient, good mannered, docile and friendly. The most affectionate pet a human could ever ask for.
You were slim, tidy and had a beauty which cannot be defined, cleanliness was your virtue, though you were afraid of water, and always ashamed for having soiled the floor. You were intelligent, and often sat gazing unblinkingly into emptiness (blank walls) seeking perhaps answers to unasked question, or conversing with your Maker, asking for favors for me, with tears trickling down your eyes. I wonder why !!! (This is the truth, and when ever she shed a couple of tears drops something good happened to me)
You came by and passed through my life but just this once, doing good things that you could and showered your unselfish love and kindness on my family and me, Devoting your unbounded loyalty and faithfulness, teaching us to be selfless and to give without expectation, to forgive and forget and love unfailingly.
You pleased every guest who visited our house with your antics, good manners and obedience that could put a mere human to shame at times.
We feel a terrible loneliness, which shall not go away ever, but we feel happy too that you have gone to your final abode, to frolick with the angles chasing butterflies in the garden of eden and sitting near your Creator's feet, always on guard.
We shall miss your presence on the front seat of the car, as we go on our long drives and short one too, your accusing looks reprimanding me whenever I did not drive too well or braked hard or did something which did not come upto your expectations. I miss every day your ecstatic love filled warm welcome when I return home, from the office. Even here you put the humans to shame Guinea, human welcome can be artificial but there was nothing so with you unbounded joy in seeing me home.
Time, people say is a great healer, Guinea, but we wonder if time will succeed this time. You shall remain present always in our hearts and memories, where, you shall have a special place always.
Lastly Guinea, IF YOU SHOULD HAVE FOUND US, CARELESS, UNTHOUGHTFUL, NEGLIGENT AND UNCARING TOWARDS YOUR COMFORTS, I REQUEST YOU TO FORGIVE US FOR BEING HUMAN AND NOT UNDERSTANDING YOUR WANTS and DESIRES.
We pray that you rest in peace and Your Creator shower onto you all happiness and joy that you missed in this world of ours. Good Bye GUINEA, OUR DEAREST LOVELIEST AFFECTIONATE DARLING, we shall miss you for all the Good things you were, and for proving your worth in GOLD.
well thats that.
